How do you find your sweet spot in life? Just look for a place “where happiness lives.” It can be a relationship, when you’re “livin’ on loves clock”, a place where “you’re not too busy, not too slow,“ where your inner soul is happy. You want to “grab the one you love, or a friend, and just get up and dance.”
With the backing and collaboration of the amazing Soul Suga’ band, Diane has written “Sweet Spot,” to encourage everyone to find their own place of happiness and contentment. Listen and your soul will be filled with joy.
On the Hammond B3 organ, Yoel B’nai Yehuda provides a warm, smooth intro, merging beautifully into Diane’s lyric voice. She then takes us into her heart as she sings, “Finding our balance soul to soul, Swaying together you and me, In the dance of our destiny.”
Listen to the intricate guitar improvisation by Cody Matlock, an Atlanta-based songwriter/guitarist who plays with many artists, including Stax recording artist William Bell. His skillful playing leads us back to the refrain where Diane sings “Don’t stop Looking for the sweet spot.”
Soul Suga’, at its very best, with Melissa Junebug on drums, Fujimoto on bass, and Diane finish the song in a powerful rendering of the refrain. “Honey to the honeybee; Aw that’s what you are to me; Sweet spot!”
